NUCLEUS HIGH SCHOOL GRANTS ADMISSION TO STUDENTS REGARDLESS OF COLOR, AGE, RACE, NATIONALITY, RELIGION, GENDER, SEXUALITY, DISABILITY OR MARITAL STATUS
The purpose for assessment for learning and assessment as learning is to improve student learning. It will be based on the provincial curriculum expectations as outlined in the Growing Success document. Following strategies will be used to collect data to assess students’ competence in four categories of skills and knowledge (Knowledge/Understanding, Application, Thinking/Inquiry, Communication)
- Observations during the lesson
- Strategic questioning during the lesson
- Periodic examination of students’ binders
- Student self-assessment against the learning target
- Students track their own progress in learning through record keeping
- Analysis of students’ reflection on the lesson
- Create a checklist of students’ learning skills
Performance pertaining to learning skills will also be assessed throughout the course
